Why Donald Trump Will be President
By John Ceccon
How many times have you been standing around the proverbial water cooler at work when the pink elephant appears and the topic of Islamic terrorism comes up? How many times have these conversations shifted to retribution, or how Obama should handle these terrorists, or what you think should happen to the terrorists, or bla bla bla bla bla. You will hear talk of bombing the middle east and boots on the ground in Pick-A-Place, Middle-eastia. Phrases like “nuke em” and “bomb em back to the stone age”, are chanted with a southern drawl like a battle cry, especially after a terrorist attack whether it is in Paris or San Bernardino. It doesn’t take long for the pink elephant to realize that Americans hate and fear Islamic terrorists.
On Nov. 12, 2015, Trump, the aspiring Commander-in-Chief, during a speech at Decker Auditorium in Fort Dodge, Iowa, said he would go after ISIS-controlled oil fields and “bomb the shit out of ’em,” to loud applause. I can assure you that mixed in with the loud applause was also the sound of jaws hitting the floor. When was the last time you heard a presidential candidate speak like this? Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant with a big dose of ballz. All of a sudden, in one sentence, the cries of the water cooler are heard and responded to. Translation – bump in the polls, and (trust me on this one) a ton of closet Trump supporters AND Democrat defectors – and he has the numbers to back it up.
Fear is an amazing thing. It can motivate you. It can demotivate you. It can make you run from danger, or stand your ground and confront it head on. If you haven’t already noticed, fear of terrorism is running high in America right now and Donald Trump is using it like octane boost for his campaign.
On November 13, 2015, a series of coordinated armed attacks occurred in Paris, France, and its northern suburb, Saint-Denis. Three suicide bombers struck near the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, followed by suicide bombings and mass shootings at cafes, restaurants and a music venue in Paris. While this attack may not have occurred on US soil, it sure got a ton of attention in the mainstream and social media, and at the same time, dumped a big dose of “wake-up call” on America. Are we next? Are terrorists going to begin these types of attacks in the homeland. A few weeks later, that question was answered in San Bernardino. They ARE here, and they ARE killing us in the name of Allah despite what Obama and his Attorney General Loretta E. Lynch claim.
On December 2, 2015, fourteen people were killed and 21 injured in what the FBI classified as a terrorist attack, (and attempted bombing) at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California. The attack was carried out by Syed Rizwan and Tashfeed Malik, a married couple living in the city of Redlands. Authorities found an detonated bomb at the center. A search of Syed Rizwan and Tashfeed Malik’s residence turned up several more IED’s including an explosive device built into a remote control hobby car.
A new survey, conducted in the aftermath of the San Bernardino, Calif., killings by two radical Muslims, found that 86 percent of U.S. adults see terrorism as a critical issue or an important concern, 19 percent of respondents said they believe terrorism is the most important national issue — up from the 4 percent last month, 79 percent of respondents believe a terrorist attack is somewhat likely or very likely in the next few months. Seven in 10 Americans consider ISIS or ISIL to be a major threat to national security.A recent ABC News poll found that 77% percent of those surveyed do not believe the government can protect them.
In December 2015, the FBI processed more than 3.3 million firearm sales background checks compared to about 2.3 million from December 2014. In the weeks following the terrorist attacks in San Bernardino, gun sales soared in the US to 300% above normal with 30% of new gun sales going to first time buyers. Nothing says I’m afraid more than someone who has never owned a gun, running out and buying one. In the aftermath of San Bernardino, rather than addressing the fear of terrorism that is currently running high in this country and what he intends to do to keep us safe, President Obama suggested that the answer was more gun control and a refusal to acknowledge that the people who carried out the San Bernardino attacks were radicalized Islamic Terrorists. Remind me again why Americans feel that the government is no longer protecting them and why they feel Donald Trump will.
“Donald Trump is going to ride that “fear freight train” all the way to the White House and there isn’t a damn thing Hillary or Bernie Sanders can do to stop it.”
A new poll by Clout Research, which has Trump leading the race, shows 40 percent of blacks are lining up behind Trump, as are 45 percent of Hispanics, and even nearly 19 percent of Asians. Only Dr. Ben Carson pulled more support from the black community than Trump, at 50 percent, and no one had more support from Hispanics than Trump. The survey shows Trump collecting nearly 40 percent of the GOP support, but also 31 percent of the independents and even 26-plus percent of the Democrats.
It’s a new version of the race card.
In another survey by Washington-based Mercury Analytic, a group of 916 voters were shown, this video, Trumps first big campaign ad. If the results are not grabbing the Democratic party by the collar and screaming “WAKE UP”, then they should just throw the presidential towel in right now. 20 percent of likely Democratic voters say they’d cross sides and vote for Trump.
Add fear to the race card and the end-game is unbeatable. Trump will exploit this.
Keep in mind that these are just polls that may or may not be biased, but one fact you can not deny is that Americans are worried about terrorism, and that fear is rising. San Bernardino caused many Americans to wake up and smell the Islamic Terrorist coffee. Trump is brewing a big pot as I write this.
